Perfectly Hidden Depression


Suicide rates seem to be climbing, and the crisis is getting more public attention with songs and TV shows getting bolder in their expressions. One benefit that has some from all this tragedy is that people are saying more and more, “You never know what people might be going through” or “Just because someone has a smile on their face doesn’t mean they have it all together”. Social media really sets us up to think that everyone is happy, everyone’s traveling, everyone has someone, etc. The grass is looking to green in some people’s yards. My hat is off to Dr. Margaret Rutherford, who says, don’t assume people aren’t suffering just because they appear to be on point. Functioning does not equal bliss.
